Third mushroom excursion 2022

01. October 2022

Slowly, the forests in northern Schleswig-Holstein are starting to show signs of mushroom life!

Although it was raining a lot when we left, it was a really great mushroom excursion and the forest keeps most of the rain away.

One participant found two beautiful Ceps right at the beginning, like something out of a picture book! This tempted us to be a bit giggly (which I always like) and asked him if he had bought the mushrooms at the farmers market before 🙂

We were all in high spirits and had some really great finds: from various Boletes, to Brittlegills and Oyster Mushrooms.

It was really a lot of fun and I thank my great participants very much!

Of course, I also brought along a few photos:

The participant who also found the Ceps brought us a splendid specimen of the deadly poisionous Death Cap (Amanita phalloides) for illustrative purposes.

The discolouration is not from the fungus, but from the soil, as it was very muddy due to all the rainfall.

A Death Cap does not discolour!

The base, encased in a white sack-like volva, the ring and a green tinge in the otherwise pure white hat, can be seen well here.

In the enlargement, you can clearly see the ephemeral ring.

The developmental stages of the Stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus) are also very exciting. From edible Witch’s Egg to Stinkhorn:

This beautiful Magpie Inkcap (Coprinopsis picacea) was discovered by a participant in a hollow tree stump.

Important!

Here too, as always:

The mushrooms presented here and their description NEVER represent a food release!!!! Please always consult a mushroom expert if you cannot determine a mushroom 100%! Because even 99% certainty can be fatal!!!
